Finbar O'Keefe

Finbar O'Keefe was born in Dungarvan, Co Waterford. At fifteen years of age, he joined the Army School of Music in Dublin, but subsequently paid his way out of the army in order to join the Saints Showband full-time. The band, who toured in USA, UK, and Germany also appeared on RTÉ's Showband Show.
After moving to England in 1967 Finbar formed New City Sounds, who had a long run on Hughie Green's Opportunity Knocks. Finbar, now retired, is married to wife Diane, and has a daughter and son.
